Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between EPO100G® Glaze & EPO100C® Clear?
APC Formulate & Manufacture two different forms of clear epoxy resin. It's important you use the correct resin in order to ensure a successful outcome of your project. APC Clear Resin (EPO100C®) is used for high-build applications over 4mm. Such as repairs, mortar & casting. APC Glaze Resin (EPO100G®) is used for roll/pour on applications where the depth of the product is less than 4mm. Using EPO100C® in applications thinner than 4mm will result in adverse effects like Fish-eyeing and bubbling. Glaze in depths over 4mm can appear cloudy/foggy.
What surfaces can EPO100G® Glaze be used on?
EPO100G® Glaze can be used on most porous substrates. This includes Concrete, Tiles, Metal, Wood & Fibre Cement Sheeting. In most cases, any previous coatings must be removed in order to allow for adhesion.
Can EPO100G® Glaze be applied directly to concrete?
Provided the first coat is sufficiently thinned to allow for penetration, Epoxy Glaze can be used in a Cut & Coat System.
How long do I have to work with EPO100G®, should I allow the mix to stand?
All resins manufactured by All Purpose Coatings do not require a standing period in order to allow for the product to begin curing. Once Part A and Part B have bene mixed, curing begins immediately. Working time is approximately 40mins in the bucket depending on the humidity and temperature of the work area.
Does EPO100G® Glaze yellow when exposed to sunlight?
Whilst Epoxy Glaze is an ultra-clear, low yellowing epoxy, exposure to sunlight will cause the epoxy to yellow off. In order to prevent this, you can apply a UV top coat such as; SPA60, SPA80 or Tetrathane®. Using such top coats will allow the system to be installed outside or inside.
Yellowing is not limited to All Purpose Coatings range of epoxies and is a typical property of any manufactured resin system.
Can I get EPO100G® Glaze in a matte finish?
It is possible to matte epoxy, however it is not recommended as the finish can become cloudy or foggy. Instead, we recommend using Glaze as normal and finishing with a matte coat of Tetrathane®.
Does EPO100G® come in a non-slip finish?
It is possible to add glass to the clear finish of Epoxy Glaze in order to increase the slip resistance and texture of the surface. adding slip-resistant mediums will however reduce the gloss level of the finish.
EPO100G® Glaze Epoxy Resin
EPO100G® Glaze is a high performance 2 pack, industrial clear epoxy resin, designed, formulated and manufactured by All Purpose Coatings. EPO100G® is designed as a stand-alone floor and wall coating or as a binder for slip-resistant surfaces.
Designed for use in a wide range of residential, commercial and industrial environments where a lasting solution to floor maintenance is required. EPO100G® Glaze is used as the build coat within a number of All Purpose Coating systems including Ultra Flake and Hyper Flake in the Crystal and Diamond finishes. EPO100G® is also suitable for bar or benchtop coatings and can be applied in many layers to achieve a clear coat with depth.
The exceptional resistance to a wide variety of chemicals and fumes makes this product ideal for use in high traffic, commercial and industrial environments.
IMPORTANT - EPO100G® Glaze should be used as a roll coat product and is not suitable for work at depth over 4mm as clarity may be lost at this depth, for work at depth refer to EPO100C® Clear Epoxy.
Spread Rate: 4 – 6m2/L (2 coats are required when used as a stand-alone coating)
1m2/L (when used as part of the Metallic Marble System)
